3. A Note About Children. We do not intentionally gather Personal Data from users who are under the age of 16. If a child under 16 submits Personal Data to Knotch and we learn that the Personal Data is the information of a child under 16, we will attempt to delete the information as soon as possible. 6. Types of Data We Collect. “Personal Data” is defined in EU Directive 95/46/EC (the “EU Directive”) as data that allows someone to identify or contact you, whether simply from that information alone, or in combination with any other information which that person controls, including, for example, your name and e-mail address, as well as any other non-public information about you that is associated with or linked to any of the foregoing data. “Anonymous Data” means data that is not associated with or linked to Personal Data; Anonymous Data does not, by itself, permit the identification of individual persons. The EU Directive gives you the right to access information we hold about you. If you wish to request access to the information we hold about you in accordance with the EU Directive, this access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our reasonable costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you. If you wish to make such a request, please contact us at the email address listed in section 1. We collect Personal Data and Anonymous Data as described below.
Information You Provide to Us. We may collect Personal Data from you, such as your first and last name, e-mail, company name, and password when you create an account to log in to our Site (“Account”). If you provide us feedback or contact us via e-mail, we will collect your name and e-mail address, as well as any other content included in the e-mail, in order to send you a reply. We may also collect Personal Data from you when you report a problem with our Services or when we provide you with customer support via email or phone.
Information Collected via Technology.
Log Files. As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically on our Site and store it in log files. This information includes IP addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider, referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. We use this information to analyze trends, administer the Site, track users’ movements around the Site, gather demographic information about our user base as a whole, and better tailor our Services to our users’ needs. For example, some of the information may be collected so that when you visit the Site again, it will recognize you and the information could then be used to serve information appropriate to your interests.
Surveys. In addition to any responses you might provide to a survey (which responses do not collect, or allow for the entry of, any Personal Data), surveys embedded on third party websites gather information regarding your activities on such third party websites such as the amount of time you spent on a webpage, how far down the webpage you scrolled down, and how long you watched a video on the webpage. Surveys also collect your anonymized IP address and aggregate demographic information through the use of Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting. Surveys also collect information about the device you are using to view such third party websites such as the device type, the browser type, operating system, and other device information. Survey responses are shared with our customers for whom such surveys are conducted, but as noted above, such responses do not include any Personal Data.

If you do not accept our cookies, you may experience some inconvenience in your use of the Services. For example, we may not be able to recognize your computer and you may need to log in every time you visit our Site.
Pixel Tags. In addition, we use “Pixel Tags” (also referred to as clear Gifs, Web beacons, or Web bugs). Pixel Tags are tiny graphic images with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, which are used to track online movements of web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, Pixel Tags are embedded invisibly in webpages. Pixel Tags also allow us to send e-mail messages in a format users can read, and they tell us whether e-mails have been opened to ensure that we are sending only messages that are of interest to our users.
Do Not Track. Some web browsers may transmit “do not track” signals to the websites and other online services with which your web browser communicates. There is no standard that governs what, if anything, websites should do when they receive these signals. We only listen to “do not track” signals from one web provider (Ghostery). Flash LSOs. When third parties post videos through our Site, third parties may use local shared objects, known as “Flash Cookies,” to store your preferences for volume control or to personalize certain video features. Flash Cookies are different from browser cookies because of the amount and type of data and how the data is stored. Cookie management tools provided by your browser will not remove Flash Cookies. 7. Use of Your Personal Data
General Use. We use your Personal Data in the following ways:
- to operate, maintain, and improve the Services;
- to manage your Account, including to communicate with you regarding your Account, if you have an Account on our Site;
- to respond to your comments and questions and to provide customer service;
- to send information including technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages;
- with your consent, to send you marketing e-mails about upcoming promotions, and other news, including information about products and services offered by us and our affiliates. You may opt-out of receiving such information at any time: such marketing emails tell you how to “opt-out.” Please note, even if you opt out of receiving marketing emails, we may still send you non-marketing emails. Non-marketing emails include emails about your Account with us (if you have one) and our business dealings with you.

User Testimonials and Feedback. We often receive testimonials and feedback from users who have had positive experiences with our Services. We occasionally publish such content. We obtain the user’s consent prior to posting his or her name along with the testimonial.
Anonymous Data. We may create Anonymous Data from the Personal Data we receive about you and other individuals whose Personal Data we collect. Anonymous Data might include analytics information and information collected by us using cookies. We make Personal Data into Anonymous Data by excluding information (such as your name) that makes the data personally identifiable to you. We use this Anonymous Data to analyze usage patterns in order to make improvements to the Services.
Third Parties Designated by You. We may share your Personal Data with third parties where you have provided your consent to do so.
Third Party Service Providers. We may share your Personal Data with third party service providers to: provide the Services and Surveys; to conduct quality assurance testing; to facilitate creation of accounts; to provide technical support; and/or to provide other services to you.
10. Security. We seek to use reasonable organizational, technical and administrative measures to protect Personal Data within our organization. Unfortunately, no transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure (for example, if you feel that the security of any Account you might have with us has been compromised), please immediately notify us of the problem by contacting us using the details in Section 1 above.
11. Retention. We will only retain your Personal Data until you close your Account, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (for example for regulatory purposes).
12. Your Choices Regarding Information. You have several choices regarding the use of information we collect:
Access. You may access the information we hold about you at any time via your Account or by contacting us directly.
Move. Your Personal Data is portable – i.e. you to have the flexibility to move your data to other service providers as you wish.
Changing or Deleting Your Personal Data. You may change any of your Personal Data in your Account by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. You may request deletion of your Personal Data by us, and we will use commercially reasonable efforts to honor your request, but please note that we may be required to keep such information and not delete it (or to keep this information for a certain time, in which case we will comply with your deletion request only after we have fulfilled such requirements). When we delete any information, it will be deleted from the active database, but may remain in our archives. We may also retain your information for fraud or similar purposes.
